Born In Roma Hair & Body Mists Are the Sweet Summer Moment We’ve Been Waiting For

There is something about a fragrance that lives on your hair and your skin at once. It moves when you do, and it lingers on the cotton of your dress long after the day is done. So when Valentino Beauty announced the new Born in Roma Hair & Body Mists launching this June, I felt that small flutter in my chest that says, yes, this is going to be a pretty healed girl summer.

The new mists launch nationally on June 17, 2026, with a Sephora app preview on June 10. You will be able to find them at Sephora, Ulta, Macy’s, and Dillard’s, and each 100ml bottle is priced at $49. That feels generous for a designer house fragrance experience, especially one that arrives in the kind of bottle you actually want to display.

Speaking of the bottle, Valentino Beauty has done what Valentino Beauty does best. The 100ml flacons are fully studded in that signature Roman couture way, washed in summer colors, and sized to slip into a tote without protest. They look like an object you would keep on your vanity even if it were empty.

The collection arrives in four gourmand essences, each one a small story. Golden Coconut feels like the sun has personally written you a letter. Caramel Crush has that warm, slightly wicked sweetness, the kind that earns a second glance. Then there is Vanilla Bliss, soft and creamy, wrapping itself around you like a cashmere wrap on a cool July evening. And Salty Pistachio is the one I cannot stop thinking about, both familiar and unexpected, green and golden at once.

What I love most is the layering invitation. Valentino has built two official pairings into the launch. The Born in Roma Donna Eau de Parfum, paired with Vanilla Bliss, becomes softer and more enveloping, a creamy warmth wrapped around the original scent. Try the Yellow Dream Eau de Parfum with Golden Coconut instead, and you get a luminous trail, the kind that makes someone stop to ask what you are wearing. It is a way of dressing your scent the way you dress your outfit, and as a woman who has worn the same pearl studs for years, I appreciate the idea of building a fragrance from your real wardrobe instead of chasing the next thing.

The campaign itself is a love letter to summer joy. Valentino is calling it the Summer Fair, and the visuals borrow from the small pleasures of a midway in July. Duck fishing belongs to Golden Coconut, balloon darts to Caramel Crush, tin can alley to Vanilla Bliss, and the green glow of a claw machine to Salty Pistachio. The campaign video uses a pinball machine as its stage, which I think is brilliant, because it captures the bouncing, playful spirit of a fragrance you can spritz again at noon without thinking about it.

If you have been waiting for a designer hair and body mist that feels both serious and joyful, this is the one to mark on your calendar. Set a reminder for June 10 on the Sephora app if you want to be among the first. I will be. There is something so feminine about misting your hair fresh out of the shower and carrying that scent into a long, golden summer day.
