Jennifer Garner Leads Star-Studded Cast in The Five Star Weekend

Peacock is set to drop all eight episodes of The Five Star Weekend on July 9, 2026, giving viewers an instant binge of one of the most anticipated series of the summer. The Peacock Original is adapted from Elin Hilderbrand’s bestselling 2023 novel and stars Jennifer Garner in the lead role of Hollis Shaw, a celebrated food blogger and author navigating grief after the sudden death of her husband.

The series follows Hollis as she invites friends from each stage of her life to a getaway on the island of Nantucket, Massachusetts. What begins as a healing retreat quickly surfaces long-held secrets and unfinished business among the group. Joining Garner is an ensemble cast that includes D’Arcy Carden, Gemma Chan, Regina Hall, Chloë Sevigny, and Harlow Jane as Hollis’s daughter Caroline. Timothy Olyphant also appears as Jack, Hollis’s boyfriend from her teenage years. Additional cast members include Rob Huebel, David Denman, Josh Hamilton, Judy Greer, and West Duchovny.

Bekah Brunstetter created and wrote the series adaptation. Minkie Spiro, known for directing episodes of Peacock’s All Her Fault, serves as director. Executive producers include Brunstetter, Garner, Beth Schacter, Sue Naegle, Ali Krug, author Hilderbrand, and Merri Howard. The series is produced by Universal Content Productions, a division of Universal Studio Group. The premiere date was moved up one week from the originally announced July 16 date.

Garner, who also serves as an executive producer on the project, has spoken openly about the bond that formed among the women on set. In a 2026 interview with Flaunt, she described the experience as a sisterhood. The series explores themes of grief, identity, friendship, and personal reinvention — the kind of story that speaks to what happens when women are finally honest with one another about the lives they’ve been quietly carrying.

At its core, The Five Star Weekend is a story about community as a path to restoration. Hilderbrand’s novel has resonated with readers who recognize themselves in women who show up for each other even when they are broken, and the Peacock adaptation brings that truth to the screen with a cast fully equipped to carry it. All eight episodes are available to stream beginning July 9, exclusively on Peacock.
