She Said “Something New” — And Zendaya Delivered at the Paris Premiere of The Drama

If you thought the Los Angeles premiere was a moment, Paris said hold my champagne. Zendaya touched down at the Paris premiere of her highly anticipated A24 film The Drama tonight, and honey she did not come to play.

Styled by her image architect Law Roach, Z stepped onto the red carpet in a custom Louis Vuitton gown that had everyone’s edges at risk. We’re talking a long-sleeve, floor-length crisp white dress with a streamlined silhouette and elevated shoulders but the real showstopper? A dramatic long black train connected to a statement bow at the base of an open back. The contrast of that white gown against that sweeping black train? Pure cinema.

Law Roach confirmed via Instagram that the look was the actress “something new” the second installment of the classic bridal adage she and Law have been building out across the entire press tour. If you missed it, at the LA premiere last week, she brought us “something old” by rewearing her 2015 Oscar gown a custom Vivienne Westwood piece that carries its own legendary history. The full bridal arc is intentional, and it’s everything.

From Paris Fashion Week to the Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards, the alleged new bride has been showing up in head-to-toe white looks, and fans have been hanging on every single one. Is it method dressing for her role as a bride-to-be in the film? Is she giving us a glimpse into her real life with Tom Holland? Zendaya isn’t telling and honestly, the mystery is part of the magic.

She finished the Paris look with layered David Morris necklaces, including the five-row Le Jardin wildflower necklace, adding diamonds and sparkle against that pristine white fabric. Her hair was swept into a bouffant updo with curls, giving old Hollywood glamour with a modern edge.

This is what it looks like when fashion becomes storytelling. Zendaya isn’t just promoting a film she’s living the narrative. And we are completely here for it.

The Drama hits theaters April 3rd. Based on the press tour alone? It’s already a classic.
